2023 Sommer Memorial

Golf Tournament

The Sommer Memorial Golf Tournament is an 18-hole competitive golf event for players of all skill levels. The Golf Tournament is the sole fund-raising activity that supports our Annual Scholarship Program. Many participants return year after year to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

The Sommer Memorial Golf Tournament was held at Royal Melbourne Country Club on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Tournament Format

The Sommer Memorial Golf Tournament is a 4-PERSON TEAM FLORIDA SCRAMBLE

Each player tees off on each hole. The best tee shot is selected and the three players whose shot was not selected play the second shot from within one club length of the location of the selected shot. The best second shot is selected and the players whose shot was not selected play the third shot from within one club length of the location of the selected shot. This process continues until the ball is holed out. Each team will be assigned a team handicap by the Tournament Committee based upon a specific set of criteria. The team with the lowest net scramble score will be declared the Florida Scramble winner.

5:45 PM Ball Toss Contest
6:00 PM Dinner Program in Ballroom

Purchase a ball, and participate in a ball toss to the 18th green from the clubhouse balcony.
